MSHSL Baseball Playoffs Continue

The Faribault Falcons baseball team did not win a game during the regular season. They got rid of the o in the win column with a 5-1 win over Austin on the road Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Hudson Dillon, senior, scattered 8 hits over 7 innings with 11 strikeouts, 1 walk, while throwing 106 pitches, 67 strikes, He also had 2 hits including a triple and 1 RBI.

Faribault had 7 hits in the victory. Owen Hanson had 2 hits. They go to Winona for a 5:00 p.m. game Thursday, May 30, 2024 with the winner going to Austin on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Stewartville, top seed, sent #4 Winona to the elimination bracket with a 9-1 win Tuesday, May 28, 2024. #2 seed Northfield rolled by #7 Byron 9-1 in Dundas meaning the Raiders and Tigers battle Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Marcuson Park in Austin.

The other elimination bracket game Thursday, May 30, 2024 is Kasson-Mantorville at Byron. The KoMets defeated Red Wing 9-2 in elimination bracket action Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Section 1A resumes Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Riverland College in Austin. Hayfield tangles with Lyle-Pacelli in the winner's bracket semifinal at noon.

At the same time Southland and Rushford-Peterson compete to see who plays the loser of the Hayfield vs Lyle-Pacelli contest at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

Section 1AA has had some rain issues. Cannon Falls and Zumbrota-Mazeppa are in the winner's bracket semifinal Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Mayo Field in Rochester. Zumbrota-Mazeppa got by LaCrescent 6-4 Thursday in a makeup game that didn't happen due to rain Saturday, May 25, 2024.

Wednesday, May 29, 2024 LaCrescent faces Randolph at 5:00 p.m. and Rochester Lourdes competes with Pine Island at 7:30 P.M. Those games are being played at Kasson-Mantorville High School.

Winners of those contests go to Rochester JM Alumni FIeld Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 10:00A.M.

Section 1AAAA #4 seed Rochester Mayo upset top seed Farmington 10-2 while New Prague shut out Owatonna 5-0.

The Spartans and Trojans are in winner's bracket semifinal 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 1, 2024 in Dundas. Elimination bracket results had Lakeville North defeating Rochester John Marshall 5-2. The Panthers go to Owatonna Thursday at 5:00 P.M.

At the same time Rochester Century is at Farmington. Winners play 1:30 P.M. Saturday in Dundas.
