Happy Wednesday to you! It's the day after the election, which by all accounts still hasn't been called for any one candidate/party so let's take our minds off the election and focus on what really matters, adopting a shelter pet. This week we are featuring Stella the cat who has been at her shelter for 12 years and is still looking for that forever home. Stella has been at Mower County Humane Society since 2008 after being rescued from a farm and still holding out hope her home is out there!

Stella has some special needs, she is a diabetic cat so she requires daily insulin shots to keep her in tiptop shape. My dad is a diabetic who takes insulin shots and when I asked him about what it feels like and he said at first it was mildly painful, but you get used to it. So I'm thinking that Stella is somewhat used to getting her shots on a regular basis and she probably feels better after getting them too.

My friend Michaela who nominated Stella has this to say about her.

"Stella is one of my absolute favorites at the Mower County Humane Society and always make sure I spend some time with her when I am there." Michaela added when she sent me a note about Stella that people shouldn't be scared of adopting Stella "one bit as it’s just a tiny needle twice a day that doesn’t even phase her."

Stella would be a great fit for someone who maybe already has a diabetic animal at home.

If you have any questions about Stella and her diabetes Mower County Humane Society would be happy to answer them.  You can find contact information about the shelter, and fill out an adoption form online all right here.
