The Minnesota Preseason Softball Rankings by Breakdown Sports Media love the Gopher Conference in particular in Class 1A and Big Nine in Class 3A.

Defending Class 1A Champion New Ulm Cathedral is on top of their class to start this season.

United South Central, Faribault Bethlehem Academy and Hayfield have the #9, #11 and #12 spots listed in the top 15 by the high school sports publication.

The Minnesota Softball Coaches Association used to have rankings on their website nbut nothing is listed for this season in that area yet..

In Class 2A defending Champion  Randolph is numero uno thanks in large part to senior pitcher Carter Raymond.  She was chosen the Minnesota Gatorade Player of the year last spring and is listed by MaxPreps as the top prospect in 2025 in Minnesota.

Raymond has committed to play for the Golden Gophers after she graduates this year.

Rockets Head Coach Dennis Trom tells KDHL, "Carter is a great role model for younger players because despite all those accolades she hasn't changed her work habits.  She is a great teammate."

Elsewhere in Class 2A  the  Hiawatha Valley League is represented by Stewartville, #7 and Byron, #14.

Big Nine Conference two time defending state champion Mankato East is on top to start the season with Winona #8, and Mankato West #9.

The Class 4A preseason rankings have Forest Lake on top with defending champion Rogers at #5.

Five teams from the South Suburban are in the top 15.  Rosemount #3, Farmington #4, Prior Lake #13, Lakeville South #14, and Lakeville North #15.
