Faribault, Cannon Falls, Lonsdale, Wanamingo, Waterville Amateur

The 2023 Amateur baseball season begins May 5, 2023 for the Faribault Lakers at Morristown. A game against the Morries to start the season has been the tradition in recent years.

Manager Charlie Lechtenburg told Royals Ross and I at Bashers during a recent Faribault Coaches Show there will be some new faces on this year's team and some veteran players have decided to hang up their cleats.

Lechtenberg is thrilled former major league pitcher, Faribault High School graduate, Jake Petricka will join the team and play in the field when he doesn't pitch.

The Lakers manager added it will be tough to say goodbye to long time centerfielder Blake Langerud and utility player Mitch Johnson.

The official roster has not been determined.

Lechtenberg says he only heard compliments about Faribault's Bell Field field and hosting the State Tournament last season.

The 2023 sites are Delano, Dassel and Litchfield.
