On Saturday afternoon, downtown Faribault was buzzing with activity! The Faribault Fire Department hosted an open house starting at 10AM, and after that was the annual Faribault Main Street Chili Contest and Fall Festival.

The weekend is finally here! The days are getting noticeably shorter, so it's time to make the most out of the remaining daylight hours. Its no secret that I love exploring local farmers' markets, but this has been another busy summer offering few chances for me to actually go. Last week I was able to get to the Faribault Farmers' Market in Central Park for a few minutes, and saw no shortage of great items!

With Monday being the Labor Day holiday, it was a short week, but that doesn't make me any less excited for the weekend. The temperatures are cooling down, but overall the forecast is looking pretty good for this weekend, and there is plenty of fun to be found in the area!

The 23rd annual Taste of Faribault will take place at the Faribault American Legion on Sept. 17 from 5-8PM. This fun event is a culinary tour through Faribault!

Saturday, Sept. 12, will be Family Day at the Faribault Farmers Market from 9-11AM. Plan to bring yourself, kids, grandkids and friends to this fun event!

Happy Labor Day weekend! I am so ready for a long weekend and all of the fun that comes with it, but I am sad that we are already at the unofficial end of summer. I know right now the temperature is soaring outside, but soon leaves will begin falling from the sky and with that in mind, it's my intent to fit as much fun as possible into this weekend!
