Saturday, Sept. 12, will be Family Day at the Faribault Farmers Market from 9-11AM. Plan to bring yourself, kids, grandkids and friends to this fun event!

In addition to the traditional farmer's market fare of fresh produce, delicious treats and homemade goods, Saturday's Family Day event will feature activities for kids and interesting demonstrations. Rice County Public Health will be giving away reusable grocery bags, the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee will be passing out free kids activity books, and there will also be free 4-H activities, a hand washing station and face painting.

The University of Minnesota Extension will be on hand providing free games, recipes and instructions on canning and freezing fruits and vegetables. There will be a vendor competition for largest and ugliest fruit. Demonstrations will be provided on making your own yogurt, with free samples, and you can also learn about the process of making honey and goat's milk soap.

The Farmers Market is at Central Park in Faribault on Wednesdays from 1:30-5PM and on Saturdays from 7AM to noon, with the final day for the season being Oct. 31. Don't miss this Saturday, Sept 12, Family Day at the Faribault Farmers Market from 9-11AM!
