Its no secret that I love exploring local farmers' markets, but this has been another busy summer offering few chances for me to actually go. Last week I was able to get to the Faribault Farmers' Market in Central Park for a few minutes, and saw no shortage of great items!

There were many items available for purchase, including fresh fruits and veggies, fun arts and crafts, fresh flowers and tasty treats. I'm going to make a priority to go a few more times before it closes for the season.

I picked up some fresh produce, and made sure to grab a few gladiola stems before I left, which are still looking great. I like glads for several reasons: they come in a range of vibrant colors, they are long and full -- so even a single stem makes a gorgeous statement, and they remind me of summer because you typically only see them in August. I love the sight of a few gladiolas on my table or desk.

What are your favorite farmer’s market items?

The Farmers Market is at Central Park in Faribault on Wednesdays from 1:30-5PM and on Saturdays from 7AM to noon, with the final day for the season being Oct. 31.
