The weekend is finally here! The days are getting noticeably shorter, so it's time to make the most out of the remaining daylight hours. This weekend's forecast predicts beautiful sunshine during the days, with temperatures in the 60s during the day and dropping to brisk lows in the 30s at night. If you're still deciding how to spend the weekend, I've gathered some ideas.

  • With the fall colors starting to change, now is a great time to spend some time strolling through the River Bend Nature Center.
  • The Faribault Farmer's Market runs through the end of October in Central Park and opens at 7AM.
  • The Faribault Fire Department will be hosting an open house on Saturday from 10AM to 2PM where you can meet Sparky the fire dog, tour fire trucks, and get a free smoke detector.
  • Faribault Main Street is hosting the annual Fall Festival. The event kicks off at noon with a children's bike and costume parade, followed by Spooky Basement Tours, kids activities, and a chili contest.
  • The Rice County Historical Society has planned the Night at the Museum for Saturday from 4-7PM, featuring costumed characters from Rice County's history.

Have a great weekend!
