Faribault Volleyball Heads to Lakeville North

The Section 1 Class AAA volleyball seeds were determined Sunday and, as I expected, Faribault will be going to Lakeville North on Wednesday.

The winner goes to top seed Lakeville South on Friday.

The top four teams receive byes and the No. 2 seed Rochester Mayo Spartans wait for Rochester Century to host Albert Lea.

No. 3 seed Farmington will play the winner of the Rochester John Marshall at Owatonna match.

No. 4 seed Northfield will entertain either Austin or Winona after their match on Wednesday.

All matches have a 7PM start.

The semifinals are November 5 at the high seed, and the section title will be determined at 3PM November 7 in Rochester.

I saw Faribault Bethlehem Academy sweep the Lakeville North Panthers in the season opener for both teams at Van Orsow Auditorium.

The Panthers have been dominant in the section over the years, but the power this season in the section is Lakeville South.

However, I doubt the Cougars want to meet the Panthers right out of the gate, so they could be cheering for the Falcons.
