Stewartville and Chatfield Get Top Volleyball Seeds

The West Sub-Section of Section 1 Class AA could be very interesting this year.

The No. 1 seed went to Hiawatha Valley League co-champion Stewartville, and they open with Triton on Thursday.

All first-round matches begin at 7PM.

The No. 2 seed Kasson-Mantorville Komets will see Zumbrota-Mazeppa come to their gym

No. 3 seed Cannon Falls will tangle with Pine Island in the Bombers' Hangar while No. 4 seed Byron hosts Rochester Lourdes.

The semifinals are Saturday at 1PM and 2:30PM at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center Arena.

In the East Sub-Section, Chatfield is No. 1 and Plainview-Elgin-MIllville No. 2.

The Gophers host La Crescent while the Bulldogs see Lake City come their gym.

No. 3 seed Saint Charles hosts Dover-Eyota while No. 4 seed Red Wing is home against Winona Cotter.

The East semis are also Saturday in Rochester at 10AM and 11:30AM.

The West championship is November 5 at 6PM followed by the East title match at 7:30PM.
