The Rice County Public Health Department started a workplace wellness collaborative in November to help employers develop or improve an existing workplace wellness initiative.  Rice County Public Health SHIP Coordinator Josh Ramaker joins on 9:30 a.m. on AM Minnesota to talk about the efforts.

"Investing in the health of employees by creating a workplace wellness initiative is an important step an employer can take to increase productivity, improve morale and better manage health care costs  Plus, most of the best practice recommendations take little or no financial resources on the part of you organization.  Just staff time to plan and implement."  That is from information released by Rice County Public Health.

"Participating employers will receive ongoing and free consultation along with tools and templates to ensure success," they added.

Any size employer was welcome with the signup deadline in November but we will find out if a company or organization (church, etc) were interested if they could still get involved.
