The Paradise Center for the Arts has a couple of events coming up that are near and dear to their hearts.  One is this weekend and the other is next weekend in Faribault.  This Saturday a show honoring the legendary Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin takes place at 7:30 p.m.

Paradise Executive Director Kristen Twitchell joins us on AM Minnesota and we will hopefully be joined by one of the singers involved in the tribute.  Dianna Parks is going to be on the KDHL Music Line to give us some details.

Parks will be joined on stage by Mary Lieser and LaSonya Natividad from the band Knufunk.  These power vocalists will be backed by Incognito who have been voted several times Rochester's favorite band.

Tickets are $20 for members, $25 non-members, $12 students.  You can purchase them online .

Former KDHL Farm Director Rod Johnson is auctioneer for the May 4th Big Hats and Big Hearts Derby Party for the Arts.  He will be joining us briefly to talk about what they do to liven up the fundraiser for the Paradise.  The event begins 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019.
