The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Peterson told KDHL AM Minnesota listeners today to support local businesses during this time of COVID-19 uncertainty.  Peterson and Professional Pride Realty of Northfield owner Pete Mergens joined us on the KDHL Newsline for AM Minnesota.

Peterson told us all in-person March and April Northfield Chamber meetings and events have been postponed or cancelled.  May meetings and events through May 11.  The April 4 Home and Garden Show has been postponed.

They are hosting a Virtual Home and Garden Show until they are able to find an alternate date.  Each vendor will be featured on the Northfield Chamber website with their logo/photo, description of their business and link to their website.

Peterson says they will be showcasing vendor businesses on, "Our social media pages throughout the month and working to push consumers to your individual websites."

The Chamber executive says if this goes well it could become a permanent way to promote the physical show.

On the Northfield Chamber website Peterson writes, "The bottom line is we want to support you.  Do you have a current promotion that you want to get the word out to Chamber members and the general public?  Post a hot deal on the Chamber website for free.  Go to your member login page at Northfield Chamber".

Peterson goes on to say, "This isn't easy.  None of could have imagined how this would progress.  But I know that we are all stronger together and together we will get through this.  Let's all keep a clear head, shop local and support each other.  We are One Community."

Mergens thanked Peterson for the Northfield Chamber leadership of the business community during the current pandemic and agreed supporting friends and neighbors is the way to continue building a stronger community.
