The United States of America is often referred to as a "melting pot" of cultures from around the globe.  An International Festival is being held in Faribault's Central Park this Saturday in celebration of that fact.  Most Americans can trace their roots back to other countries.  I'm in the process of doing some work on my ancestors.  For example my Dad's Father was born in Germany in 1885 and arrived in North America in 1911, living in Canada a few years before moving to Minneapolis and raising a family. My Mom's Dad was born in Ottumwa, Iowa in 1900 and the family tree goes back a couple other generations of people here before going overseas to Ireland.  The International Festival in Central Park in Faribault is this Saturday.  10am-4pm.
