Hayfield, Randolph Selected High in First Baseball Rankings
The Hayfield Vikings are rated #1 in the first Class A 2021 Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association rankings. Randolph is #3. You might recall the two teams played each other on KDHL Radio in the 2019 MSHSL State Tournament in the Consolation Championship game.
Lyle-Pacelli is another school from the region included in Class A which are the smallest schools in the state.
The Big Nine Conference is represented well in the AAA rankings. Mankato West is #1, Mankato East #5. Frankly I thought Northfield deserved some recognition.
In Class AA Albany is #1. Sibley East from the Minnesota River Conference is #3, Belle Plaine #5, Caledonia #7 and the Gopher Conference is represented by Maple River #10,
The largest schools division, Class AAAA has Stillwater on top. Farmington is #4, Eagan #7 and Owatonna #10, Frankly I thought Northfield deserved some recognition. The Raiders defeated the Huskies 10-3 and have only lost to the state ranked Mankato West and East and traditional power New Ulm.
Owatonna fell to Rochester John Marshall 11-2 Thursday. The Rockets have a losing record.
