Faribault Main Street Program Coordinator Kelly Nygaard stopped by Wednesday for our Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce AM Minnesota program.  Nygaard went over a number of chamber related topics and said the first Downtown Faribault Car Cruise of the season is Friday.

The event takes place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Classic vehicles, delicious food, a deejay spinning tunes and more.  This year people can tour the Alexander Faribault House free during car cruise nights.  In addition some artists will be doing some demonstrations of their work and some businesses will be open for Car Cruise participants and visitors to see what they have to offer.

Five Car Cruise nights are scheduled.  In addition to this Friday other dates are June 14th to coincide with Faribault Heritage Days, July 19th, August 16th and September 20th.  The September event (the anniversary of last year's tornadoes that struck the area) will be held at Faribault Harley Davidson.

Nygaard also talked about the business awards winners revealed during the annual celebration of business luncheon hosted by the Chamber at the Faribault Golf and Country Club.

The State Bank of Faribault was named the business of the year.
