Faribault Lakers Play Noon Today

The Faribault Lakers Region 3C Amateur Baseball Tournament game at St. Benedict was moved to a Noon start today.

The game had been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. but I believe those involved think the earlier start will avoid some rain.

In action Friday night:

Top seed St. Patrick defeated Veseli 6-0.  The winner of the Faribault game faces St. Patrick Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in St. Patrick with the victor in that game punching their ticket to the State Tournament.

#2 seed Montgomery got by Webster 4-1 and #3 seed Union Hill breezed to a 10-0 win over New Prague in 7 innings.

Nate Berg smacked a 3 run home run and Conrad Masberg pitched the shutout for the Bulldogs.

The winners play Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in Montgomery with the victor also earning a state berth.

The 8 Team Modified Double Elimination Tournament has opening round losing teams playing Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Teams that don't win see their season end and the winners advance with one win needed to earn a trip to state.
