
Faribault Lakers Drown in River Falls Hits
The Faribault Lakers traveled to River Falls, Wisconsin Friday night and came home following a 10-0 seven inning loss. The Fighting Fish hammered 14 hits while the Lakers had 3 in the lopsided game. Each team had one error.
River Falls scored 3 runs in the second inning and never looked back, scoring 3 runs in the 7th to end the game by the 10 run rule.
Mike Carpentier had 2 hits, Danny Pierce added a double for the only Faribault hits in the game.
Blake Borwege was charged with the loss while going the first 4 innings. He gave up 5 runs, 4 earned, 8 hits, with 2 strikeouts, 1 walk. Borwege threw 38 pitches, 27 strikes. Zac Van Thomme took the hill for 2 1/3 innings, gave up 4 hits, 4 earned runs with 2 strikeouts and a walk while throwing 30 pitches, 20 strikes.
Carpentier worked in the final inning giving up 2 hits, an earned run while facing 3 batters and throwing 3 pitches, all strikes.
Faribault is scheduled to play this afternoon 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick in DRS League action. The Lakers are unbeaten in league play.
