Some organizers of this year's Faribault Heritage Days Celebration will be on our AM Minnesota program 9:30 this morning.  The celebration runs June 12 through the 15th with opening ceremonies taking place 6:30 p.m. June 12th in Central Park.  There are events taking place all over town.

Some of the events are the weekend before the official celebration.  Soap Box Races have a practice run on Saturday, June 8 in the Peace Lutheran Church neighborhood from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  The Rice County Historical Society has a fundraiser Saturday, June 8 at the Faribault American Legion featuring the band Jumpin' at the Woodside.  Tickets are $25 for Dinner and Dance and $10 to dance only.  You may phone 507-332-2121 to order tickets.

There will be the traditional Carnival in the Park at Central Park.  The Mayor's Reception is at Buckham West 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13.

Car Cruise will be held Friday, June 14 along Central Avenue in downtown Faribault from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  There is a FREE teen night Friday at the Faribault Aquatic Center ages 12 to 18.

The Grand Parade is Saturday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m. with Faribault High School senior Samuel Temple the Grand Marshal.
