Main Street Faribault Coordinator Kelly Nygaard was the guest on Monday's KDHL AM Minnesota program.  Nygaard said this year the arts downtown project was a pilot program and recently they received word another grant will be awarded to continue the arts on main project in 2019.  She told us the chamber has received a lot of compliments for the art downtown.

The Main Street Faribault program coordinator attended the Upper Mississippi Main Street Conference in Winona.  Nygaard gave us a few details about the event which was organized by the  Preservation Alliance of Minnesota's Main Street program, Wisconsin Main Street, Main Street Iowa, and Winona Main Street.  The theme of this year's conference was downtown activation seven days a week, twelve months a year.

Winterfest activities postponed December 1 have been rescheduled for this Friday and Saturday, December 14 and 15.  Friday Winterfest Fireworks will be shot at 5:30 p.m. followed by a lighted parade along downtown Central Avenue.  Nygaard says Central Avenue will be the perfect place to see those fireworks and the cooler winter air will make them more vibrant than summer fireworks according to the fireworks experts shooting them this weekend.

Saturday the Sleds on Central Vintage Snowmobile Event will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. along the 400 block of Central Avenue.
