The Waterville-Elysian-Morristown volleyball team took on the Springfield Tigers on Thursday night at Mankato East High School. The No. 3 Tigers had upset the No. 2 St. Clair team on Tuesday night.

The Tigers did not make it easy by any means, as it was 28-26 at the end of the first set. The Tigers had the Bucs at set point 24-20 when Shelby Hermel put a string of good serves together and they tied it up at 24. Second set was 25-20 and they wrapped it the third 25-21.

The Buccaneers will go on to face a very tough Mayer Lutheran team on Saturday. Mayer Lutheran defeated Cedar Mountain Comfrey in three sets. The match has been moved to the Taylor Center at Mankato State University as there was a conflict with MIAC volleyball at Gustavus. Match time is 6PM with a 5:45PM pregame show on KDHL with Gordy Kosfeld.
