On Wednesday Gordy asked me to fill in for him on KDHL's AM Minnesota program. He is a little busy theses days with all the spring sports and Playoff Games. The topic was a little out of my "wheelhouse" of agriculture but it was fun to host the program. The topic was a program coming up in downtown Faribault on June 8, 2019 called: What's all the Buzz About Slow Fashion.

Slow Fashion is defined as encouraging the fashion industry to produce eco-friendly wearables or clothes in our local area. Slow fashion sort of follows the organic or local foods idea. The What's the Buzz about Slow Fashion program will held at the Fleur de Lis Gallery on Central Avenue in Faribault from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Natural dye artist Judy Sayer-Willis will be offering a community indigo vat where you can bring a shirt and add blue jean color to it. B and J Sewing Center will demonstrate sewing techniques such as how to mend a seam and finish edges. Kathy Anderson will be weaving on a loom. Bobby Gallas will be showing her creative work in visible mending which will be followed by discussions on subjects of upcycling and repurposing.

There is no charge to attend the What's the Buzz about Slow Fashion. If you bring a shirt to be colored in the community indigo vat there will be a small charge. If you would like more information call Judy Saye-Willis 507-838-5133.
