Kenyon-Wanamingo Back on Top of Class 2A Volleyball Poll
The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights were the top-ranked team in Minnesota in the Class 2A preseason poll and the first couple of weeks of the season.
Last week they were ranked third in the state after losing in the championship match of the Wabasha-Kellogg Tournament.
After a convincing victory over Kasson-Mantorville last week and winning the Class 2A Volleyball Showcase tournament in Burnsville over the weekend, they are back on top in Class 2A.
Head coach Jen Nerison says there is a lot of season left and she really doesn't look at those polls, but admits it is nice for her girls to receive some recognition for all their hard work.
Nerison told us on last week's Kenyon-Wanamingo Girls Coaches Show courtesy of the Jim Sviggum Insurance Agency in Wanamingo the only ranking that matters is the one at the end of the season when a team holds the championship trophy.
Faribault Bethlehem Academy performed well at a stacked Apple Valley Tournament over the weekend and still tops the Class 1A poll and Eagan is still No. 1 in Class 3A despite losing to Burnsville last week in a South Suburban dual meet.
