It's been a rough week for many people in the area. With great amounts of rain, comes a great amount of mess. Much of the community has been battling water for the last several days whether sandbagging, cleaning up water from basements, or trying to get around the closed roads. You can see all of the flood and rain info and images here. Unfortunately, some people will spend this weekend still dealing with the effects of the water, but if you have a chance, there are several fun things going on in the area this weekend.

This weekend you have the chance to view over 200 beautiful quilts during the biennial Rice County Piecemaker's Fall Splendor Quilt Show.

Friday and Saturday at 7:30PM, the Merlin Players production of Harriet the Spy plays at the Paradise Center for the Arts.

Friday evening, the Faribault Elks Lodge hosts Octoberfest beginning at 6PM.

Saturday morning is the Faribault Farmers' Market in Central Park from 7AM-12PM.
