Last year the Paradise Center for the Arts hosted The Crown Jewels, a Queen tribute band and opening for them was Horizontal Hero. This year, Horizontal Hero came back to the Paradise Center for the Arts in downtown Faribault with their own name adorning the marquee. Saturday night music rang through the historic theater.

I've had the Loverboy song "Working for the Weekend" in my head throughout the day as we draw closer to the weekend. Despite the threat of a few rain showers on Saturday, overall, the forecast is looking warm and like an ideal time to enjoy all that fall has to offer. The trees are officially bursting with color in our area, the temps have cooled, and school pride is bursting. Bethlehem Academy celebrates their homecoming this weekend, but there are plenty of other things going on too!

The weekend is here, and after a couple weeks ago when the rain seemed likely to never end, we have been rewarded with a picture perfect fall day and a fantastic forecast for the weekend. Today hit 73 degrees with abundant sunshine and tomorrow is slated for 67 with partly cloudy skies, lows around 50, and nothing but sunshine and 70 on Sunday! Like I said, a seriously great forecast.

It's been a rough week for many people in the area. With great amounts of rain, comes a great amount of mess. Much of the community has been battling water for the last several days whether sandbagging, cleaning up water from basements, or trying to get around the closed roads. Mark the calendars and grab your little ones for some family fun in downtown Faribault on Oct. 8 from 12-3PM! The Faribault Main Street program is hosting the annual Fall Festival and Chili Contest and has a lot of fun things in the works.

After quite a bit of rain recently, it looks like the skies have cleared up and it's safe to put the umbrellas away for the weekend. Temps are still relatively warm making it perfect to get out and enjoy all that the great outdoors has to offer, as well as check out the some of the great events going on in the area.

Here in Faribault, we are fortunate to have the River Bend Nature Center located within city limits. It is a gorgeous area with more than 700 acres of land that can be roamed on well maintained trails, river views and educational programs.
