The Section 2 Class A Minnesota high school volleyball playoffs features the top two ranked teams in the state in Class A.  Mayer Lutheran is rated #1 currently, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is ranked #2.  Each are top seeds in their respective Subsections which begin next week.

South top seed Waterville-Elysian-Morristown will host either #8 Martin County West or #9 Mankato Loyola next Thursday.  North top seed Mayer Lutheran awaits the winner of the #8 Nicollet versus #9 Buffalo Lake-Hector match.

#2 South Subsection seed is Mountain Lake-Comfrey.  They will play the winner between #7 United South Central and #10 Janesillve-Waldorf-Pemberton,

#3 seed Alden-Conger will host either #6 Martin Luther-Granada Huntley East Chain-Truman.

#4 seed Springfield plays the winner of the #5 St. Clair versus #12 Madelia match.

#2 North Subsection seed Minnesota Valley Lutheran will open against either #7 New Ulm Cathedral or #10 Sleepy Eye.

#3 North seed BOLD hosts either #6 Gibbon-Fairfax-Wintrhop or #11 Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity

#4 North seed Sleepy Eye St. Mary's will see either #5 Cleveland or #12 Cedar Mountain-Comfrey on Thursday.

In Class 2A Section 2AA brackets Tri-City United is the #4 seed in the North and gets a home match Thursday against #5 Maple River.  The top North seed is St. Peter.  They host Blue Earth Area next Thursday.

#3 Waseca hosts #6 Sibley East.  #2 seed LeSueur-Hendereson goes up against #7 Fairmont.

On the other side of the bracket top seed Southwest Christian opens with Richfield Thursday.  #2 seed Belle Plaine entertains #7 Holy Family Catholic.

#3 Norwood-Young America sees Bloomington Kennedy come to their gym.

The Section 2 Class 2A South Subsection semi-finals are October 29 at St. Peter High School at 6:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.  The North Subsection semis same times at New Ulm High School.

The Class 1A Section 2 title match is scheduled for November 2 at 6:00 p.m. and the Section 2 Class 2A title match is 7:45 p.m. at Mankato East High School.

The Class 2A Section Semifinals are Halloween at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at New Prague High School.
