My guest on today's AM Minnesota Program will be Warren Formo the Executive Director of the Minnesota Agriculture Resources Center (MAWRC). The MAWRC is funded by many of the Commodity Groups, Farm Organizations and Ag Business. There mission is to be a place where farmers can go on how their farming practices affect water quality.

The MAWRC also operates the Discovery Farms. Those are real farms of all types, crops and livestock scattered around Minnesota. They have set up equipment to measure any soil and crop nutrients that leave the farm. They have some very technical equipment and instruments set at each farm. It is going to be interesting to ask Warren what the data shows this growing season with all the rain!

The Discovery Farms have been in operation for a number of years. So far soil and crop nutrients leaving the farms have been far lower than what "computer models" had projected!
