Two Injured in Rice County Crash Sunday
Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn sent a news release today during our KDHL Midday Report detailing a single vehicle personal injury crash Sunday evening. The accident occurred at 230th Street and Baseline Road in Warsaw Township just south of Faribault. North Ambulance and Faribault Rescue were also dispatched.
Upon arrival they found two victims who appeared to be in critical condition the Sheriff noted. Dunn says, "The vehicle went through a stop sign at a T intersection and went into the ditch across the road, impacting the embankment and ending up in a field."
The driver identified as Darcy Andrews, 34, of Medford was flown by helicopter from the scene and the passenger, David Trotter-Ford, 34, of Faribault was taken by ground ambulance to Allina District One Hospital in Faribault and then airlifted. Both were taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester due to their extensive injuries.
As of Noon Christmas Eve day the Sheriff says they were, "both listed in serious but stable condition."
The news release also says, "Possible charges are pending upon completion of the crash investigation."
The Rice County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Faribault Police Department along with Faribault Fire/Rescue and North Ambulance.
