The Rice County Sheriff's Office received a call at approximately 8:25 this morning about a 911 hangup call in the area of 30th Street and Hazelwood Avenue in Webster Township.

According to a Rice County Sheriff's Office news release while responding to the call they received word Scott County Deputies had located a vehicle being sought in a Washington County "gun pointing incident."

The vehicle was parked at 3050 Hazelwood Avenue.  Deputies set up a perimeter and began searching for the 33 year old male suspect allegedly associated with the vehicle.  The suspect was spotted approximately 30 minutes later by a deputy and fled to a wood line where he was taken into custody without incident.

Rice County Deputies used drones to assist in the search for the suspect.  It is unknown at this time if the 911 call was related to the incident.

Agencies involved in the search included, Deputies from Rice, Scott, Dakota Counties, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, agents from the Cannon River Drug and Violent Offender Task Force a Farmington Police Department K9 Handler.

This is the second time in the last two seeks Rice County Sheriff's Deputies have used drones in tracking down a suspect.

The suspect was turned over to Washington County.  No other information was released.  The Washington County jail roster did not contain any information about arrests today.
