The signs posted at lake accesses say "on all Rice County lakes," but in a Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office they say, "No wake restrictions are in force on 12 Rice County lakes (Cannon, Circle, Cedar, Cody/Phelps, French, Fox, Hunt, Mazaska, Roberds, Sakatah, Shields, Union) until further notice."
There were no injuries among the three adults and six juveniles involved. Jesse Thomas, Rice County Sheriff was glad all were wearing life jackets and says the Cannon has a lot of debris in it.

Sheriff Thomas stated, "A 2019 study in Colorado found that for every dollar of tax revenue received from recreational cannabis sales, $4.50 was spent on addressing the adverse impacts of cannabis."
The Faribault Police Chief commented, "I am grateful for the quick action of the citizen who intervened, placing themselves at risk and protecting the store clerks from the assaultive suspect. While we always encourage citizens to act with caution when witnessing a crime of violence, we are incredibly appreciative when individuals go above and beyond in their civic duty."
