Tickets went on sale for the Minnesota State Fair's "food parade" on Friday... for some people, anyway. Thousands of people were shut out from purchasing tickets when the fair's choice for ticketing, Etix, crashed immediately at the 10 a.m. on-sale time.

I personally tried for over an hour to get tickets, only to have the site break down on me in a number of different and exceedingly frustrating ways.

First, the site wouldn't load at all. Then, when I selected my date/time, my 'session expired.' Finally, I got all the way to the credit card screen before being told my time was no longer available.

I'm not going to force you to take my money, I guess.

2.1 million people attended the Great Minnesota Get Together in 2019. The organizers for this event completely failed in anticipating the demand that the event would create, leading to a ton of people being shut out entirely, myself included.

In my opinion, the Fair needs to figure out a way to add dates and times to this event to make up for the frustration Minnesotans felt Friday morning.

Are you planning on going to the State Fair Drive-Thru? If so, did you get tickets?
