The Goodhue County Public Health Department bi-weekly in-depth analysis of COVID-19 cases was updated this week.  Cannon Falls still leads the county in positive test results with 30% of the 169 total county cases.

The county's largest city, Red Wing, is next with 22%, Kenyon has 13%, Zumbrota 11%, Pine Island 9%, Goodhue and Welch each 5%, Wanamingo 3%, Dennison and Lake City each 1%.

57% of the Goodhue County COVID-19 cases are femaie, 43% male.

25% of the positives are among people in their 20's.  15% each in their 40's and 50's.  14% are in their 60's, 10% in their 30's.  9% in the 10 to 19 age bracket.  6% in their 70's.  2% each among those in their 80's, 90's and under the age of 10.

10,448 tests have been conducted with a positive rate of 1.8%.

The median age of cases in Goodhue County by month is interesting in that it bucks most county trends of going steadily lower.  In March the median age was 39.2, April 39.2, May 53.5, June 47.9 and July 42 years old.

Goodhue County COVID-19 statistics as of July 31, 2020 show 169 lab confirmed positive cases with 17 active cases.  144 patients no longer need isolation.  11 patients were sick enough to require hospitalization and 5 required intensive care.  No Goodhue County residents with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.

8 deaths have been reported in Goodhue County since the first cases of the virus were reported in Minnesota.

Cases by exposure statistics show 27% have been community known contact with a positive case.  25% long term care staff or resident.  21% community no known contact with positive case.  11% travel, 8% health care staff, 5% unknown and 3% corrections staff or inmate.
