Free stuff is always great. Right? My wife and I recently installed some water conservation kits in our house as a way to save some money during COVID-19. It's a practical and easy way to cut your water bill as you are spending more time at home, plus they are FREE for customers of Minnesota Energy Resources.

According to the Minnesota Energy Resources webpage, customers have two options of kits they can choose from. Option 1 features "2 low-flow showerheads, 1 kitchen and 2 bathroom faucet aerators, and 2 pieces of 3' pipe insulation." Option number 2 features "1 low-flow showerhead, 1 kitchen and 2 bathroom faucet aerators, and 2 pieces of 3' pipe insulation."

When we installed our aerators and showerheads it took us around 15 minutes altogether to do. We didn't need any special plumbing tools just a wrench to uninstall the current aerator/showerhead and install the new one.

How much can you save by installing these? According to Minnesota Energy Resources, "customers can save a $100 a year on their gas bill with just one low-flow showerhead."
