The Northfield Raiders walked off Rochester Century on a wild pitch scoring Joey Malecha 8-7 Thursday.  The Panthers outhit the Raiders 13-5  but it's the runs that determine the winner.

Rochester Century had 4 errors, Northfield one in the game.

Century jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings.  The Raiders got a grand slam home run off the bat of Malecha to take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third inning.

The Panthers plated 3 runs in the 6th inning and 1 in the 7th to take a 7-4 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning.

Northfield opened the bottom of the 7th with a single off the bat of Ian Stanton.  Following a strikeout, Stanton advanced to second base on a passed ball.  He scored on a single by Blake Mellgren to make it 7-5 with one out.

Tate Journell grounded into a fielder's choice for the second out.  Gunnar Benson walked, Malecha walked following a pitching change by the Panthers.  Ethan Lanthier hit a ground ball to short that resulted in an error scoring Journell and Benson to tie the game.

Nolan Stepka walked to load the bases before Malecha scored on a wild pitch to end the game.

Ryan Bell started the game on the mound for Northfield going the first 4 innings.  He allowed 7 hits, 3 runs all earned, walked 2 and struck out 2 while throwing 75 pitches, 52 strikes.

Cole Stanchina earned the victory going the final 3 innings.  Six hits allowed, 4 runs all earned.  He walked 2 and did not record a strikeout.  Stanchina threw 54 pitches, 29 strikes.

The Raiders are 9-3. Their schedule says their next game is Thursday, May 14 in Winona.
