More than 30 people have reported getting sick after spending the 4th of July weekend on Lake Minnetonka, primarily around the Big Island area, which is a popular party spot. Some of those sickened have had to seek medical treatment because of dehydration.

Bring Me the News reports that the county's epidemiology manager Dave Johnson said Tuesday morning that those that have reported getting sick "have reported vomiting and diarrhea since spending time on the lake, many of them in the Big Island area." He also said that these symptoms point towards water exposure or food exposure.

Testing is currently being done on samples from sick individuals and the water is being tested for pathogens. MPR reports that those sickened are being interviewed and being asked questions like "'were they in the water, were they swimming, did they potentially accidentally ingest some water.'"
