Last time we talked about the Minnesota ice castle, we thought it was going to end up in Stillwater. Well, friend things have changed. According to Bring Me The News, an agreement was not reached between the castle company and the City of Stillwater.

The new location for the attraction is New Brighton. They are planning on building the castle in Long Lake Regional Park. According to the article, this is the first time that the ice castle will be in the northern part of the Twin Cities. It has been at the Mall of America and the Eden Prairie area before. Stillwater was the last location that hosted it in Minnesota.

Ice castle builders said in the article that they are super excited to be back in Minnesota with their attraction. They feel that Long Lake Regional Park is a perfect location because it is just 20 minutes north of Minneapolis and St. Paul. That means that it is convenient for everyone. The plan is to use around 10,000 icicles to build the castle. There will be a lot of photo opportunities when it is finished.

The attraction is expected to bring in about 10,000 people over the duration of the event. If the weather does what the builders want it to do, they plan on opening in January.
