Dennis Luebbe, Rice County Highway Engineer told County Commissioners meeting today as a Committee of the Whole last week's one inch rains will wreak havoc with roads.

Luebbe told Commissioners his snowplow operators are ready to tackle whatever mother nature sends our way.  He said if we receive the predicted high winds at some point plows would have to be pulled off the roads.

The proposed six-legged roundabout at Highway 19 in Rice County has a resolution meeting scheduled with MnDot later this week.  One hundred percent of the design plans have been submitted.  The consultant on the project says bids could be opened as soon as mid April.

The Lonsdale roundabout is also moving forward.

Luebbe said construction of the Highway 19 roundabout would take about 90 working days so the hope is to start in early June.
