Approximately 95,000 pounds of Johnsonville’s ready-to-eat jalapeño cheddar smoked sausages have been recalled because the meat could contain “extraneous material.” U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials say food inspectors found hard green plastic in the meat. Consumers are being asked to check their refrigerators and/or freezers for 14 oz. packages of this product with a "best by" date of June 9th. Anyone with questions should contact Johnsonville's consumer relations department by phone or text at 1-888-556-2728.

The USDA says, "there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider."
