Old Farmer’s Almanac Predicts ‘Scorching’ Summer For Minnesota

It's that time of the year again! The Old Farmer's Almanac has released their predictions for summer of 2025 for our neck of the woods.

Some people get very angry when it comes to the Old Farmer's Almanac and don't believe a word they say. That's fine! I still think it is fun to see what they are predicting for the month or the season ahead.

The Old Farmer's Almanac really focused on two different things here: precipitation and temperatures. They focus on June, July and August and use thirty-year averages to come to their conclusion.

Let's dive in a little deeper into their predictions for the summer ahead for our region, which includes most of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

General Summer 2025 Forecast For Minnesota + Wisconsin

Better get that air conditioning unit into our window! This summer is going to be a 'scorcher' with hot temperatures and dry conditions.

As for when these conditions will really ramp up, the Old Farmer's Almanac says that our scorching summer will be gradual, with a normal June. Things will ramp up into July and August, as usual.

How Hot Will It Get In Minnesota + Wisconsin?

Start bracing yourself now. The Old Farmer's Almanac says we can expect record-breaking heat and as intense of a summer as we had in 2024, which was one of the hottest on record for the country.

Yikes! Temperatures will, of course, be hotter than average. It might be because we are so used to cold or mild weather in Duluth but I do not do well in the heat!

How Much Rain Will We Get In Minnesota + Wisconsin?

Precipitation will be a lot more subtle than the hot temperatures this summer. Our region can expect a drier-than-normal summer. However, it will only be slightly drier than normal so nothing too out there for this part of the country!

We still have to get through spring before summer hits in the Northland. I am not even a summer person but I can't deny that it makes everyone a whole lot happier - and less cranky!
