Faribault Area Senior Center Executive Director Mona Kaiser stops by our KDHL Studio to give us details about Tuesday's groundbreaking for the expansion of the facility.

It's been a few years in the making and I know Kaiser is pretty excited to see the shovels turn some dirt and actually get the project underway.

All of us are invited to the groundbreaking because we all helped make the project a reality.

The groundbreaking will be Tuesday, October 3 on the west side of the Senior Center because that's where the expansion will take place.

The program begins at 5:00 p.m. and food will be available for purchase between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. prepared by Uncle B's BBQ.

Mona reports nearly 500 unique donors have given over 80 percent of the money necessary through pledges, cash and in-kind gifts.

Mona says, "obviously that leaves 20 percent and with the dirt moving taking place Tuesday if you've been waiting to see if the project would become a reality you don't need to wait anymore."
