Let's Play Hockey ranked the Rochester Lourdes Eagles girls hockey team #12 in Class A in their latest rankings.  The Faribault Falcons got a terrific performance from senior goalie Camryn Salmonsen but fell 3-2 in Rochester Thursday night.

Salmonsen stopped 50 shots in the game including an incredible 24 saves in the second period alone.  The period included two power plays for the Eagles that the Falcons had to kill.

Rochester Lourdes was 1 for 5 on the power play and Faribault 0 for 2.

The first goal of the game was 2:28 into the contest on a power play by Lourdes and Faribault answered :58 seconds later when sophomore Haley Lang had an unassisted goal.

Rochester Lourdes scored 1:10 after that and the Falcons answered :40 later when Allyson McCoshen scored on an assist from Lang to make it 2-2 going into the first intermission.

Rochester Lourdes had 14 shots on goal and Faribault 7.

It was a scoreless second period thanks to saves galore by Salmonsen.  Shots on goal were Lourdes 24 and Faribault 5.

Lourdes scored what would be the winning goal at the 10:34 mark when Emma Schmitz scored unassisted.  The Eagles had 15 shots and Faribault 12 in the third period.

Both teams now have 13-9 records,

Faribault hosts Rochester John Marshall Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Lourdes entertains East Grand Forks Friday at 4:00 p.m.
