The Faribault Fire Department will be conducting a training burn this Saturday, March 24. beginning at 8:00 a.m.  A home at 1740 Willow Street (the old Reinke farm) is the structure to be burned and Faribault Fire Chief Dustin Dienst tells us they should be finished by 4:00 p.m.

Firefighters are training on the behavior of fire and extinguishment of the fire.  Dienst says once they are through training they will allow the house to burn down under the supervision and control of the Faribault Fire Department.  The Faribault Fire Chief adds weather could be a factor and they won't conduct the training Saturday if the conditions are not acceptable.

Chief Dienst wants the public to know they will be utilizing the roadway for equipment staging and it could cause traffic disruption in the are.  He asks for our patience in advance so firefighters can receive hands on training.

Anyone with questions can call the Faribault Fire Department general number at 507-334-8773.

There are other buildings on the site also but the Chief says just the home is included in this training.

There is an old barn, part of a two stall garage and another shed on the property located near the KDHL Radio towers.
