Things may get interesting on Jake Owen's Life's Whatcha Make It Tour. It turns out that he and opening act Jordan Davis share a very specific talent.

"I heard he has an incredible John Anderson impersonation," Davis shares with Taste of Country Nights' Sam Alex. "I feel like I have an okay one myself, so I'm going to have to see. He's a pretty good singer though, so he's probably got me beat on that."

Davis actually got a personal call from Owen inviting him to join the tour with Chris Janson, and he says it's a "dream" to perform in the Minor League baseball arenas they'll be stopping at all summer long.

"I've heard nothing but great things from both those guys," Davis says of his tourmates. "I'm honored to be on the tour."

As a newcomer in the genre, Davis remembers the days when he saw one of his idols, Eric Church, perform live when he was just a newbie himself. The "Singles You Up" singer cites Church among his top three musical influences, along with John Prine and Jim Croce. He's been a fan since the beginning and remembers seeing Chief not long after the release of his second single, "Two Pink Lines."

"I was a huge Eric Church fan," he says, recalling his college days when he first saw Church perform at the Varsity Theatre in North Carolina. "I've met him before, I've told him I'm a big fan."

The Life's Whatcha Make It Tour with Owen, Janson and Davis launches on May 18 and runs through Sept. 22.
