AM Minnesota Today White Cane Awareness Day

Today on KDHL's AM Minnesota Program I will be filling in for Gordy. John Davis and Holly Nordmeyer for the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind in Faribault will be in studio to discuss the 2018 White Cane Awareness Day coming up Thursday at the State Capitol. Everyone is invited to gather at the Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda for Governor Dayton's Proclamation. The White Cane Walk Will Follow the Proclamation.

Those are the only details I have so we will find out a lot more information this morning at 9:30. In addition there should be time to talk about the correct or proper conduct when we seem someone for example with a white cane in the grocery store. Should we offer to help them find something or could they be offended?  I am sure they have worked very hard to be independent productive members of our society. It should be a very informative AM Minnesota Program so I hope you can tune in!
