This week's adoptable pet is a cat named Kasson. Kasson has spent the last two-plus years at the Freeborn County Humane Society, and can be your pet in time for the holidays!

Kasson doesn't have any special needs other than a home this holiday season. According to our friend Michaela Kasson "is a shy guy but has a special bond with some of his favorite people at the shelter."

According to Michaela Kasson would do well in a quiet home, where after having some time to warm up to the new environment, with his new owners who are willing to have some patience with him.

At the shelter, Michaela says that Kasson "does really well with other cats and would benefit from another feline companion in the home."

Kasson would also prefer to be in a home setting with older children who are more understanding of his needs would be preferred as well.

I know first hand about the Freeborn County Humane Society as our two cats that we have in our house (Hamilton and Yukon) are both from there. The volunteers there really try to do a good job of helping to match you to an animal that they have.

A CNN Health article from 2018 has some great advice for anyone thinking about 'gifting' a pet for the holidays, remember that "taking in a pet is a permanent commitment, and shouldn't be done as a rash decision or as a surprise for someone."
