The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has launched a new website called Ask USDA. For many decades the USDA has had a huge amount of data and information. Other than the major reports that are released to the news media the rest of the information was difficult to access. Now with the new website it will be easy to get information and questions answered.

All you have to do is go the website: on any search engine and it will come up. Then you can type in key words or phrases and the top 10 results will pop up. In addition there is a chat option where you can type a question if you could not find the answer. I would be more interested in the crop and livestock data but there are publications on just about any thing you are interested in related to food and agricultural production.

The best part is there is no charge to access the information and you do not need to set up an account with user names and passwords. Well, I guess it is not technically free because the taxpayers have funded the USDA to develop all the data and information! So, it is nice that that information and data will be more available. Check out the new USDA website!
