Last week I asked you how you like to spend your time on vacation. I wanted to know if you enjoy kicking back and relaxing with no schedule, or if you prefer to fill your days with activities and cram as much as possible into your getaway. The results are in!

It turns out, that there is a good mix of travelers, while not split evenly, the numbers are a lot closer then I thought they might be. Sixty percent of poll participants said that they like to have full days of sightseeing when they travel, leaving 40 percent of those that took the poll preferring to take it easy and relax.

I never know when or if I'll get a chance to return to a destination, so I like to see as much as I can when I visit a new place, but I know that's not for everyone, so I'll make a plan to do some of the things on my list when they are sleeping in or relaxing when possible. I think, knowing that the split of how people wish to spend their time is so divided, is to have a conversation with your travel companions before you leave, so that you both have a realistic understanding of the other person's expectations. If they overlap and you both agree to either relax, or have a full agenda, great. But, if they don't, it might be a good idea to find a compromise before you go, so you can all enjoy your trip.

Happy travels!
