Faribault Area Senior Center Executive Director Mona Kaiser stops by the KDHL studio to update us on the progress of the capital campaign for their proposed expansion.

There are only a couple of days left to make a charitable contribution for tax purposes for 2015.

We will also get updates on other happenings at the Senior Center.

For example, a special series is being held in 2016 titled "Living Well with Chronic Conditions Workshop."

The workshops will be Wednesdays from January 20 through February 24 in the Senior Center Coffee Shop. Sessions are at 1:30PM.

Preregistration is required by phoning Public Health at 332-6111.

Description of the series by facilitators states it's for adults with an ongoing health condition such as arthritis, diabetes, depression or anxiety, high blood pressure or heart disease.

The workshop will teach you "practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, and learn better ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health."

These workshops are free and go two hours each time.

Just one of the examples of the myriad of opportunities at the Faribault Area Senior Center.

I hope you will tune in at 9:30AM.

If you can't, then go the KDHL website and click on the AM Minnesota tab and there is a listing of past shows you can view on our YouTube channel.
