Tesla is unveiling Thursday night a new Model 3, electric car that is supposed to get at least 200 miles on a charge. And people are lining up like crazy to put $1,000 down on something that won't get delivered here until mid-late 2017.

There is only one place in Minnesota to go to order one, and that is in Eden Prairie. According to an article in the Star Tribune, with a starting price of $35,000 before government incentives, the Model 3 is less than half the cost of Tesla’s previous models. If you want to be in the queue you need to visit the dealer with the cash. Otherwise online orders will start at 10:30PM Thursday.

This car would mean I could almost drive back and forth to the Twin Cities for two days on a charge. This Model 3 is supposed to be the one to make electric cars more mainstream. We will see.
