A recent post to the concerned citizens of Kenyon's Facebook page has gotten people excited. A sign on the old Schweich's/Kenyon Bar and Grill restaurant/bar/hotel door indicates that something new will be opening up in November of 2021.

The sign on the door simply reads Lacey's Kitchen and Cocktails - Opening November 2021.

A quick search of Lacey's Kitchen and Cocktails turned up an online mobile food menu (it's maybe just a page that fills with online data, not affiliated with the actual restaurant/bar), but there wasn't anything more to that other than a home page that lists it as a food place and the hours will be updated soon.

I also wasn't able to find any more information in regards to Lacey's on social media or the world wide web.

Lacey's would be taking over the building formerly known as Schweich's, which closed in March of 2018 after then owner Lawrence Schweich told the Kenyon Leader at the time that is was closing "because of a continuing decline in his health, which has been a concern for some time, and ongoing health concerns for his daughter, Leslie Marrinan" who managed the business. You can read more about the closing of Schweich's here.

After Schweich's closed the Kenyon Bar and Grill opened up in 2019, only to be closed due to the pandemic in March of 2021.

Here's hoping that Lacey's has a long run in Kenyon, as it appears that the area and town would love to have a new place to eat, drink, and generally spend some time at.

According to the Secretary of State's website, Lacey's name holders on the business license are Heather D Pederson-Thram and Steven C Lacey.
